Vintage (or possibly antique) French travelling steamer trunk made by A St Hubert of Paris in the 1920s probably. Pine wood construction with red brown canvas covering, bound in leather and wood with brass and steel brackets. Impressive brass hardware on the front: two catches and a large central lock. made by Yale I think. Interesting, almost hologrammatic effect in the lock brass. Leather handles on the ends; a blue stripe has been painted on the ends, presumably for identification, and the letters C and V. The inside is partially lined with fabric. Condition is pretty good structurally: it's sound enough. No keys I'm afraid. Cosmetically it has lots of signs of age: scuffs, scratches and marks etc; wear and tear to the canvas; the interior fabric is a bit forlorn and we've removed some of it. Some old woodworm which we've treated for good measure, mostly in the bottom, but it's not structurally important. Dimensions: 100cm x 53cm x 47cm high
